  • Who are our adjudicators? The Stephen Sondheim Awards adjudication team is filled with a range of industry professionals. Our adjudicators are not only experts in their field, but passionate about arts education and the future of high school musical theatre.
  • What does an adjudicator for The Stephen Sondheim Awards do? Stephen Sondheim Awards adjudicators view 3-5 productions each year and provide scoring and feedback for each production. As an educational organization, production feedback is a core part of our program and all feedback is shared with the school following the awards gala at the end of the year. Adjudicators receive a stipend along with travel reimbursement for productions viewed. All adjudicators participate in a yearly training along with a final adjudication meeting in the late spring.
  • How can I become an adjudicator?Individuals must apply to be an adjudicator for The Stephen Sondheim Awards. Applicants must have a degree in a relevant field (Music, Theatre, Dance, Technical Theatre, or Arts Education) or have extensive professional or academic experience within the industry. Upon submitting an application, potential adjudicators will partake in a brief interview with a member of our staff.
