MT Dance/Ballet III (Grades 10-12)

For advanced dancers training to be musical theater performers. For Ballet, we will work on in depth dance technique concepts including how different muscle groups aid in execution of dance steps and sequences. Students will expand their knowledge of ballet steps and continue to condition their bodies for dance. Class will begin with exercises at the barre and then move to center work. We will continue to work on jazz technique while leveling up the dance steps students’ repertoire.  In addition to learning new and challenging steps, class will be taught at a faster pace, challenging students to think on their feet, retain choreography quickly, and self correct.  Class will consist of a jazz warm up, across the floor and end with a Musical Theatre combination so students can continue to practice storytelling through dance. 

Ages: Grades 10-12

Required Materials:  Form fitting athletic wear (students taking Ballet III can stay in ballet attire), jazz shoes, sneakers, and character heels (girls)

Prerequisite: 5+ years of consistent dance training or with faculty approval
